Apna Ghar Programme Disburses Rs104 Billion In Housing Loans To 17,697 Borrowers

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Nov, 2026) Prime Minister's Apna Ghar Programme has disbursed Rs104 billion through 17,697 housing loans as of October 30, marking a 404 percent increase in disbursements since June 2026, Advisor to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad said on Thursday. In a post on his social media account X, the advisor said that the programme had received 220,715 applications, of which 90,405 had been approved, involving financing of Rs533 billion, with an approval rate of 41 percent. He said that the programme had achieved the milestone within six months of its formal launch, translating the government's affordable housing finance commitments into tangible results. Schehzad said housing loan disbursements had increased from Rs21 billion in June 2026 to Rs104 billion by October 30, reflecting a growth of 404 percent, while financing approvals had surged by 269 percent, from Rs144 billion to Rs533 billion during the same period. He said the initiative was aimed at promoting affordable housing finance, expanding financial inclusion and stimulating construction-led economic activity, while bringing thousands of families closer to homeownership. The advisor acknowledged the contributions of the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan Banks' Association, participating banks and the Ministry of Housing and Works in implementing the programme. He said the initiative was being implemented under the Finance Minister's leadership to advance the Prime Minister's vision of expanding access to housing finance.
