MISSOURI (Heartland News) - Eight people died and 82 were injured in 213 traffic crashes in Missouri over Labor Day weekend, according to the highway patrol. The Missouri State Highway Patrol released its preliminary report on traffic and boating crashes over the holiday weekend. The reporting period started at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 4 and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7. The Labor Day holiday traffic statistics included: Boating statistics included: Compared to 2025, the highway patrol investigated 252 traffic crashes involving four deaths and 123 injuries. Statewide, they say six people died and 423 were injured in 931 vehicle crashes in 2025. They say nine boating crashes were investigated throughout the state in 2025.
