The Punjab Govt has decided to resume the construction of incomplete classrooms in 120 public schools across Lahore, aiming to complete the pending work and improve classroom facilities for students.
According to sources, authorities restarted the construction work after receiving approval from a third party. Meanwhile, more than 70 schools are also receiving additional classrooms to accommodate students and address space shortages.
Previously, School Management Councils had launched the construction projects. However, authorities halted the work after identifying defects and other issues in the construction process.
Now, the Strategic Management Unit will oversee and complete the remaining classroom construction work. This decision aims to ensure that authorities complete the projects according to the required quality standards.
Meanwhile, CEO Education Authority Tariq Mahmood has directed the concerned officials to complete the construction of all incomplete classrooms within three months. He also stressed that authorities must ensure quality standards throughout the construction process.
The move is expected to provide improved learning spaces for students in Lahore's public schools while completing projects that remained unfinished after construction issues emerged.
