LONGVIEW, Texas — The Gregg County Fair is back for its 77th anniversary, celebrating with rides, shopping, local artisans' wares, petting zoos and more.
The fair begins Friday, Sept. 11and runs through Sept. 19. The annual event began in 1949 from a venture started by the Jaycee chapter in the area.
Each day of the fair will bring something new and different, including new bands, new contests and new pricing deals for armbands. There will be a family day at the fair with buy one get one free on gate admission.
General admission is $8 per person, and children 3 and under are free. Senior citizens (60+) are free and Military and family are free (with ID) as well. Ride armbands are available daily, and ride coupons available daily.
