Walker rescued after fall on West Highland Way near Loch Lomond

ShareA female walker was rescued after sustaining head and facial injuries in a fall on the West Highland Way near Loch Lomond. Loch Lomond Rescue Boat (LLRB) said Police Scotland tasked it at 1.33pm on Monday, at the request of the Scottish Ambulance Service, to assist with the medical emergency. The volunteer crew launched and travelled to the scene, where they worked with ambulance service staff and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park rangers to assess and treat the injured walker. She was then transferred, alongside ambulance crew, by rescue boat to Tarbet. LLRB said the operation allowed its volunteers to stand down after the casualty had been brought back to the village. "A female walker had fallen sustaining head and facial injuries. "Our volunteer crew launched immediately and made best speed to the scene. "On arrival, crew worked alongside colleagues from the Scottish Ambulance Service and National Park Rangers to assess and treat the casualty, providing immediate care on scene. "The casualty and ambulance crew were then transferred by Rescue boat back to Tarbet allowing LLRB crew to stand down."Share Get involved with the news
