Kate Siegel, one of the most renowned names in the horror cinema, believes that music "unlocks" stories which is why she builds her movies around a record. The 44-year-old director and actress revealed that one of her favourite contemporary musician is Olivia Rodrigo, who she would also like to see on the screen. In her interview, the Hush star noted, "One of my dream goals is to cast Olivia Rodrigo in something, because I just think she's such a good actress, like, inside, and the way she presents it outside. And I just love the way she exists. And I remember thinking, like, remember when artists used to write albums for movies? Wouldn't it be great? Oh, and she's so perfect." The interviewer also agreed with Siegel, adding, "Like, she's my favourite of that, you know, of that style and stature right now. Just because, I mean, she's so tapped in to, and talks about all the time, you know, what she was raised on with her parents, and Weezer and Radiohead, and The Cure, and all of that stuff. And it's like, oh man, what she's, the Handmaid's Tale song that she just put out." The Haunting of Hill House actress then recalled how she first became a fan, saying, "Do you know? No, she's so into it. I remember the same girlfriends that I talked to about Episode 3, when Sour came out. One of my friends, Mara, sent it to me, and she's like, you have to listen to this. This is what high school felt like. And it was crazy to see that 20 plus years later, it was. It was, well, 25, 27." You know what I mean? Oh yeah, no, to get her, someone like her to do it, like you said, like the whole, like Queen to Highlander, you know, how they did, that's the one that comes to mind." Siegel then called out to Rodrigo, saying, "We're just putting it out there. Olivia! Somebody, can somebody like tag, do the thing that people do, tell her that I like her. Tag it, tag it." Later in the interview, the filmmaker updated on her current project in the works, which she is writing as well as directing. Siegel noted that she has not gotten to the casting yet, and added, "So we're out there. Olivia Rodrigo. Call me." READ MORE : Olivia Rodrigo's producer Dan Nigro confirms mystery after fan-theories
