Auto show lets fans get up close with favourite models

Hundreds of cars, bikes and electric vehicles were on display at Lahore's Expo Centre from Friday to Sunday, and auto enthusiasts rushed to get a glimpse of their favourite automobile. From electric bikes to hybrid cars and other latest models, Pakistan Auto Show 202 gave visitors a chance to check out various options up close and personal under one roof. Honda set up an expansive mini showroom at the exhibition, displaying its newly introduced electric bikes along with other motorcycle models and upcoming cars. A large number of visitors could be seen taking interest in the electric bikes. However, some customers said those bikes were expensive when compared to other brands like Metro and Jinpeng. However, a sales executive said the prices were linked to the quality of the bikes and the features being offered. Jinpeng, meanwhile, displayed one of the largest varieties of e-bikes at the exhibition, bringing different models and designs, while their prices appeared relatively modest compared to others. The interest in electric bikes was particularly noticeable at the overall event. More and more people appeared fascinated, mainly because of rising petrol costs as well as their edgy and modern look. Visitors were not only amazed by the prices and mileage, but also the design and overall appearance of the vehicles. Families also visited the exhibition and children were seen posing away, sitting inside the cars and on bikes and taking pictures. Suzuki also presented multiple vehicles at its stall, attracting visitors interested in both its existing models and the ones making their way back into the market. Its iconic Bolan - popularly known as carry dabba - also grabbed attention. The vehicle is re-entering the market, but this time with modern features and, importantly, an air-conditioning system that could make travelling more comfortable. For many visitors, the exhibition was not only about buying a vehicle; it was an opportunity to see how the automobile market is changing, particularly with a growing interest in electric vehicles. The increasing presence of e-bikes at the exhibition also shows how petrol prices are influencing consumer choices. At the same time, the variety of cars, motorcycles and other vehicles shows that traditional fuel-based vehicles still dominate the market. From families to young bike enthusiasts, people from different age groups were seen exploring the stalls. This annual exhibition shows the passion of Lahorites for various vehicles and the latest trends in market. With new electric models, upcoming cars and familiar names returning with latest features, the event gives visitors a glimpse into what could be waiting for them on the roads in the coming days.
