8-year-old injured in golf cart, e-bike crash in Ogle County

OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — An 8-year-old Wisconsin child was hospitalized Sunday night after a crash involving a golf cart and an electric bicycle, according to the Ogle County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were dispatched around 10:10 p.m. Sept. 6 to the 7000 block of North River Road for a reported golf cart crash involving an injured juvenile. Following an investigation, deputies determined that 21-year-old Benjamin Stenson of Oostburg, Wisconsin, was driving a golf cart northbound on private property when he struck an 8-year-old child from Beloit, Wisconsin, who was riding an e-bike eastbound on the same private property. The child was taken by Byron EMS to Javon Bea Hospital with injuries that authorities described as non-life-threatening. The sheriff's office said no citations were issued following the investigation. The incident remains under investigation.
