PML-N veteran Jaffar Khan quits party after 35 years, joins PTI

Shangla - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) veteran leader Jaffar Khan has ended his 35-year association with the party and joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), along with his family and supporters. He announced his decision at a PTI joining ceremony held in Kuz Kana Borshat on Thursday, which was attended by a large number of party workers and local residents. Addressing the gathering, PTI provincial spokesperson and central leader Shaukat Ali Yousafzai said public support remained with PTI and its leadership. He claimed that a large number of political and social figures, as well as party workers, were joining PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in Shangla. 'The people have already delivered their political verdict and the coming time belongs to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf,' he said. Former Tehsil Chairman Bisham Haji Sadeed-ur-Rehman and Shaukat Yousafzai welcomed Jaffar Khan, his family and associates into the party. They said the new entrants would be given due respect and would be encouraged to participate actively in the party's organisational and political activities. PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Deputy Secretary Nawaz Mahmood Khan, former Tehsil Chairman Alpuri Waqar Ahmad Khan, District President Liaqat Ali Yousafzai, Senior Vice-President Habib-ur-Rehman and senior leader Fawad Ali Noor were also present at the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Jaffar Khan formally announced the end of his 35-year affiliation with the PML-N and expressed confidence in PTI's leadership and manifesto. He said he, along with his family and supporters, would stand with PTI and play his role in strengthening the party in the region. District spokesperson Qari Islamzada, Tehsil Kana President Zaheer Abbas Khan, Deputy General Secretary Tehsil Kana Khair-ul-Bashar and Kuz Kana President Maulana Khair-ul-Afser were also present, along with a large number of party workers. PTI leaders congratulated Jaffar Khan, his family and supporters on joining the party and said their inclusion would strengthen its presence in the area.
