Manchester United are planning to return to the transfer market in January to strengthen the left-back position, after failing to sign a new player during the summer transfer window. According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are closely monitoring Swedish player Daniel Svensson, who plays for Borussia Dortmund and has been impressive since the start of the season. Svensson, 24 years old, is a versatile player, having featured this season in left-back, centre-back, left wing, and right-back positions, which has made him a target for several major clubs, including Arsenal, AC Milan, and Juventus. Borussia Dortmund value the player at around €35 to €40 million, which is approximately £30 to £39 million, to agree to enter negotiations regarding his departure. Manchester United had set their sights on Newcastle's Lewis Hall to strengthen their left flank, but the deal fell through as Newcastle insisted on not parting with more of their key players. With Luke Shaw remaining the only natural left-back in Manchester United's squad, the club seems poised to make another move in January.
