Royce White makes 'trans-on-trans violence' accusation during podcast appearance

Former NBA player Royce White made a wild claim during a guest appearance on a podcast to discuss his status as an alleged transgender woman seeking to play in the WNBA. White continues to insert himself into the debate surrounding the rights of transgender athletes ever since Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham said in a July interview that she does not believe biological men should be allowed to play organized sports against women and girls. Both men continue to garner attention through various public and social media stunts, including Kanter being thrown out of a WNBA game for arguing with a player. White hasn't gone that far – yet – but he did put on his gimmick during a recent appearance on the 'Whatever Podcast' along with a panelist of real-life transgender women. 'I was born in 1991. I never knew I could be a woman,' White, wearing a blonde wig, said to the panel. One of the women replied: 'How come you aren't wearing female clothes?' Another asked: 'Why don't you get on hormones?' 'Excuse me, please let me finish what I'm saying. Don't interrupt another trans, that's trans-on-trans violence,' the 35-year-old said. 'Violence is crazy, I know. I've only been transgender for like three weeks. The violence I've experienced is out of control. Trans people telling me to commit suicide, saying I'm full of s—, saying my transition isn't real, calling me the n-word. I've never been called the n-word as much as since I've transitioned,' White continued. 'It's crazy, transgenders face more racism than heterosexual Black men. I'm having a blast being a woman. I never knew I could be a woman. It's a revelation. It's liberating. And to be a black trans lesbian is like, it's a dream come true. There's been a lesbian trapped inside me my whole life, I never knew it until recently.' White, who played one NBA season with the Sacramento Kings in 2014, has appeared on multiple shows in recent weeks in what appears to be an attention grab, rather than anything to do with a fight for transgender rights. One panelist replied to White: 'I absolutely see you as a woman. I want you to know that. I see you as a woman because only a woman would do something this b---- and this clever. I absolutely see you 1000 percent. You go, girl.' While White continues his stunts, Kanter has taken his to a new level. The former NBA center filed a lawsuit against the Chicago Sky after being kicked out of their arena and has announced his desire to become the next WNBA commissioner after Cathy Engelbert announced her retirement.
