Houthi attacks push up global oil prices: Ali Pervaiz Malik

Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has said Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia have caused fresh turmoil in the global oil market, putting more pressure on the petroleum product prices. He said the region was passing through a highly sensitive period and crude oil prices had reached $132 a barrel. Malik said oil prices had risen by 70 to 80 per cent, adding that the situation was putting pressure on petroleum product prices. He strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, saying the present situation required a proper understanding of its seriousness. Meanwhile, speaking about the ongoing political situation in the country, Malik said: "Those protesting should also suggest solutions to the problems." He said no one would be allowed to march on Islamabad.
