Join me as I break down three of my favorite MLB picks for Tuesday, Sept. 8, including why Bobby Witt Jr. is going to rain on Corbin Burnes' return. Best MLB player props today Player Pick Odds Dean Kremer Over 2.5 earned runs -110 Sean Burke Over 1.5 walks allowed -119 Bobby Witt Jr. Over 1.5 total bases -108 Enjoying Covers content? Add us as a preferred source on your Google account Dean Kremer Over 2.5 earned runs (-110) Yes, I'm well aware of the difficulties the Detroit Tigers are currently enduring, but Minnesota Twins right-hander Dean Kremer may be struggling even more. The veteran starter owns the worst pitcher rating on Batters-Box's current-season dataset. He draws not only a lineup with an elite average hitter rating, but one featuring seven elite bats and one strong bat. Nearly every bat in the Tigers lineup will find himself in a strong spot tonight. Kremer has a 7.43 ERA and 1.80 WHIP over his last three starts, allowing a 47.62% hard-hit rate and 14.29% barrel rate. Five of the eight hitters in a strong spot will bat from the right side this evening. The last 30 right-handed hitters Kremer has faced are producing a jaw-dropping 75% hard-hit rate, 20% barrel rate, and 70% elevation rate. Not to mention, they own a sub-.500 xBA and 1.099 xSLG. The Tigers may be cold, but this is a spot to heat back up. If you can find plus money for this prop, or for the Tigers F5 team total Over 2.5, take it. Do not pay more than -110. Time : 6:40 p.m. ET : 6:40 p.m. ET Where to watch: MNNT, DSN Sean Burke Over 1.5 walks allowed (-119) One of the highest walk rates for a pitcher over his last five starts belongs to Chicago White Sox right-hander Sean Burke, who owns the third-highest walk rate during that span. More recently, over his last three starts, he ranks second with an 18.8% walk rate. Burke draws the Pittsburgh Pirates at a bad time, as they have been walking a lot over their last 12 games, hovering around a 10% walk rate. The Pirates' lineup has six batters with at least a 10% walk rate over their last 10 games. Over their last five games, they have at least seven at 9.5%. In a very small sample of 18 games with an average rating on Batters-Box, Burke has surpassed this prop more than 55% of the time. If Burke continues to struggle to find the zone, this should be an early cash for us. I would not pay more than the price above for this prop. Time : 7:40 p.m. ET : 7:40 p.m. ET Where to watch: CHSN, SNP Bobby Witt Jr. Over 1.5 total bases (-108) The pride of the Kansas City Royals, Bobby Witt Jr. finds himself in a great spot against Arizona Diamondbacks starter Corbin Burnes, who is making his first start since June 2025. Witt enters with a strong rating on Batters-Box. In 60 strong ratings over the last few seasons, he has surpassed this prop 65% of the time. Overall, he has gone Over 1.5 bases in 56.82% of 132 strongly rated games. The star shortstop has been tearing the cover off the ball over his last 10 games, generating a 53% hard-hit rate and a barrel rate above 20%, all while posting just a 26.5% ground-ball rate. Of his last 10 batted balls, four were hit harder than 101 mph, while seven were above 91 mph. Witt's last batted ball traveled 374 feet at 101.4 mph off the bat. He hasn't left the yard in a few games, but I fully expect him to find extra bases this evening with Burnes making his return. Do not pay more than -110 for this prop.
