STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Tejinder Singh, accompanied by DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Shridhar Patil, paid his maiden visit to District Samba and held an introductory meeting with senior officers and supervisory staff. At the outset, SSP Samba Anuj Kumar, briefed the IGP on the district's overall functioning, including the security situation, crime scenario, anti-narcotics measures, border security and operational preparedness. Addressing the meeting, IGP Jammu stressed the need to strengthen preventive and intelligence-based policing, effective supervision of naka duties and security of police establishments and vulnerable locations. He also directed officers to closely monitor criminals, gangsters, OGWs and drug peddlers and ensure effective follow-up of cases registered under the UAPA and NDPS Act, with emphasis on coordinated and proactive policing.
