Kolkata: The Bengal BJP will organise a month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's completion of 25 years in the highest levels of administration. Announcing the programme at the party office in Salt Lake, state BJP president Samik Bhattacharya said the campaign would be conducted across West Bengal from the booth to district levels. Modi will complete 25 years in public administration on October 7, marking the anniversary of his becoming Gujarat chief minister. The campaign will highlight Modi's administrative journey and welfare initiatives over the past 25 years. On his birthday on September 17, BJP workers will light at least 25 lamps at every booth, praying for his health, longevity and continued success. People will also be encouraged to light lamps at the block level. A documentary and theme song will be released as part of the campaign, while 'Namo Seva Gatha' will showcase Modi's administrative work and welfare initiatives. A decentralised 'Seva Jyoti Yatra' will be organised at the district and mandal levels on October 7. The programme will cover booths, mandals, blocks, subdivisions and districts. District units will hold press conferences on September 9 and 10 to announce their respective programmes and roadmaps. On 'Gerua Bangla', he said the BJP does not subscribe to the phrase, describing saffron as a symbol of sacrifice and India's cultural continuity. On Modi's possible Bengal visit, he said there was no information yet.
