SPO dies after falling from walnut tree in J-K's Ramban

Ramban, Sep 8: A Special Police Officer (SPO) died after accidentally falling from a walnut tree at his native village Mundhkal, Pogal, in Ukhral tehsil of Ramban district on Tuesday. Advertisment The deceased was identified as SPO Rahmatullah (Belt No. 707/SPO), son of Rustam Chopan, resident of Mundhkal, Pogal. He was presently posted at SPO Post Kunda. According to sources, Rahmatullah sustained critical injuries after falling from the tree and died on the spot. The incident left the family and local residents in deep shock. The Ramban Police expressed grief over the demise of their colleague. SSP Ramban Arun Gupta and all ranks of the police force conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul. Advertisment As a mark of respect for his service and contribution to the Police Department, a ceremonial salute was accorded to the mortal remains during the last rites. The ceremony was attended by the Additional SP Ramban, DySP DAR/DPL Ramban, other police personnel, family members and local residents. The police conveyed solidarity with the bereaved family during the difficult time and expressed condolences over the untimely demise of their comrade.
