Woman dies in hit-and-run accident

Priya Devendra Goswami, a regional head at a private firm and resident of Karjande, was out for an evening walk at around 9 PM on Monday on the road leading from Vaghivali to Chinchpada when a vehicle knocked her down, inflicting severe injuries. Instead of helping her and reporting the incident, the driver sped away from the spot. Local residents rushed Goswami to the Panvel Sub-District Hospital. However, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival at 11:20 PM. Further probe is on, police said.
