This and that

Too annoyed to post after the game and don't feel and ounce better 3 days later, so I am going to post. Lot of it is rehash but I need to get it out of my system: OB: I think it is even worse than most on this board are wailing about. The false starts, not getting plats in as the OC on 4th down, running away from punts, etc.. but how about this, at 24-8 when BC had regained momentum and was marching 80 plus yards down the field to the Cincy 7, while the announcers are noting that the Cincy D is cooler, hands on hips, etc, guess what our brilliant HC chose to do. The one thing he couldn't do to sabotage the drive. He subbed 3 new players in, which allowed Cincy to bring in fresh bodies…and what happened? They shut the drive down and attacked our line of scrimmage because they weren't tired anymore. It's one thing to stink at the prep and gettimg players to focus, but it is a whole other thing to assist in crushing your own team. 90% of the coaches, even the new ones, know enough to stay out of the way in that spot. How can this coach who has succeeded at the highest level, look so overwhelmed and underprepared. Stunning. Refs: bad job. I get it, huge game swinging missed call.. you know what would have helped..Edgehill holding onto the ball and taking it out of the refs hands. FG: oh how I so badly don't want to return to the land where every BC fg and XP is a box of chocolates. Off-season kicking reports seem to suggest this was a possibility but I didn't want to believe it. For a team that only has the potential to win around the edges, this can't be part of the operation. Cincy: not overly impressed. They didn't beat themselves which was enough. Their QB threw for 77 yards and we lost by 3-4 scores. Their D was supposed to be suspect but we turned them into a fierce squad. They had as many new players as we did but it didn't show. Swanson: 1st game moving up a level so he gets a grace period, however my eyes saw what they saw. No awareness on the catch in the back of the endzone, and relative indifference on the other ball thrown to him in endzone. No effort trying to shield his body.. coaching. MM: I am not interested in listening to how tough he is all year and how much his teammates respect him when we have 8 points with one minute left in the game. Give me a bank robber, who doesn't give to charity, skips occasional practices but gets the ball into the end zone 3-4x per week on Saturdays. Rutgers, will beat us 27-24 late.
