Pakistan, Belarus discuss ways to deepen economic cooperation

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus, Denis Moroz, here on Wednesday discussed bilateral economic relations, trade and investment, and avenues for further strengthening economic cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus.According to a press release issued by the Finance Ministry, the Belarusian Minister called on the Finance Minister along with a high-level delegation. On the occasion, the minister noted the longstanding engagement between the two countries and highlighted the importance of expanding commercial ties and investment flows to support the growing scope of economic cooperation. He underscored the importance of continued engagement and emphasized the need to broaden consultations to support economic engagement between the two countries.The two sides discussed the broader agenda of Pakistan–Belarus cooperation, including industrial cooperation, agriculture, education, culture and other areas. The Belarusian side highlighted ongoing efforts to advance cooperation in these sectors.Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to working closely with Belarusian counterparts to translate the ongoing engagement into concrete outcomes and further strengthen cooperation across areas of mutual interest. On the occasion, Denis Moroz appreciated the finance minister's support and expressed confidence that continued coordination between the relevant institutions of both countries would further facilitate bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation. The meeting was attended by the Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs, along with the members of the Belarusian delegation, including Andrei Metelitsa, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Pakistan; Viktor Shchetko, First Deputy Minister of Industry; Andrei Prokopchuk, Director of the Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus; and Viktor Nikitin, National Bank of the Republic of Belarus. Senior officials from the Finance Division were also present.
