Maine Revenue Services Opens Tax Portal for Pass-Through Entity Tax Payments

Maine Revenue Services announced that the Maine Tax Portal now accepts estimated payments for the state's newly enacted Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) program. The Department explained that the PTET, effective July 29, 2026, requires quarterly estimated payments only for payment due dates occurring on or after that date for tax years beginning in 2026. To facilitate implementation of the new tax, the Department stated that no underpayment of estimated tax penalties will be imposed for PTET during tax years beginning in 2026.
