MALIBU, Calif. -- A driveway to a home in Malibu collapsed into a sinkhole Tuesday morning amid coastal erosion, causing a gas main rupture.
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to a vacant home near the Pacific Coast Highway, around 5:45 a.m.
The fire department says erosion underneath the home broke a water line and a gas line. The Southern California Gas Company has since shut off the gas.
Aerial video shows crews beneath the driveway structure filling buckets with sand to protect neighboring homes from erosion.
