تبيّن أن دويّ الانفجارات الذي سُمع في محيط صيدا والزهراني والبلدات المجاورة ناجم عن مفرقعات نارية ضخمة أُطلقت في بلدة مغدوشة احتفالاً بعيد ميلاد السيدة العذراء.
ووصل صدى المفرقعات إلى مناطق بعيدة، ما أثار حالة من القلق ودفع البعض إلى الاعتقاد بأن الأمر مرتبط بحدث أمني.
