PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Police said they are looking for the driver of a pickup truck that hit a man and a pregnant woman who was forced to deliver her child. The baby died after the delivery. The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said officers were in the 14500 block of Richmond Hwy. in the Woodbridge area around 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 3. The location is near the intersections with Woodside Drive and Featherstone Road. Police found that a 28-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were walking through a parking lot when a dark-colored pickup hit them. The driver left the scene. Medics took the man and woman to the hospital. The woman, who was in her third trimester, underwent an emergency procedure. Her baby was delivered as a result and died several hours later from injuries that appeared to be related to the crash. PWCPD said the woman and man are expected to recover. As of Sept. 7, investigators still were looking for the truck and its driver. They asked anyone who may have seen what happened to contact them.
