Week 2 of the fall season from the Boulder area (BoCoPreps 10&10) Each week of the fall season, BoCoPreps will highlight exceptional performances from 10 teams and 10 athletes. Teams Boulder football: The Panthers are 2-0 for the first time since the pandemic-shortened 2021 season after beating Prairie View 30-0 in Week 2. Broomfield football: The Eagles are 2-0 to start the Chris Helbig era, beating Monarch 24-18 on Friday night. Brodie Reidle had 191 yards and two scores on the ground in the win, while Matthew Merilatt returned a blocked punt for a touchdown. Erie boys soccer: Cael Ferrera leads 5A with 13 points (six goals and an assist), and the Tigers are 4-0 after beating Centaurus and Rangeview last week. This is Erie's first 4-0 start in program history. Erie is currently ranked third in the state by MaxPreps. Holy Family football: Kaden Hopkin threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns, Gage Gunderson rushed for 250 yards and two scores, and the Tigers (1-1) beat 3A defending champion Pomona 64-28 on Friday. Nick Leopardi also had four receptions for 193 yards and two scores in the win. Longmont football: Tanner Reed threw for 224 yards and three scores as the Trojans (2-0) shut out Skyline 41-0 for their first 2-0 start since 2015. Jacob Foot added 114 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Monarch boys golf: The Coyotes had three of the top four players and won the Granite Peaks League tournament at Thorncreek Golf Club by 18 shots on Thursday. Senior Jake Bradley finished first, shooting an even-par 72. Monarch softball: Kate Church went 6 for 9 from the plate as the Coyotes (8-2) won all three of their games last week, extending their win streak to seven games. Niwot boys tennis: The Cougars swept Centaurus and Holy Family in duals last week, improving to 5-1 on the season. No. 1 singles player Jacob Johansson won both of his matches in straight sets. Niwot football: The Cougars are 2-0 after beating Mountain View 44-16 in Week 2. With a 58-14 win over Littleton the previous week, Niwot's offense has scored 102 points through two weeks. Silver Creek football: The Raptors (1-1) bounced back from a Week 1 loss to Longmont with a 34-7 win over Centaurus on Friday. Athletes Reagan Bayley, Legacy volleyball: The senior outside hitter leads the state with 131 kills. She had a career-high 28 kills in a five-set win over Pine Creek on Saturday. Noah Chapala, Mead football: The senior rushed for 208 yards and two scores as the Mavericks (2-0) beat Frederick 38-13 on Friday. Ava Dangott, Fairview softball: The freshman has Class 5A's third-best slugging percentage at 1.172. Last week, she had four hits and two home runs across three games. Jordyn Fox, Holy Family volleyball: The junior outside hitter had 40 kills as the Tigers (5-0) beat Forge Christian and Broomfield last week. She has 77 kills on the year, and Holy Family is ranked third in the state by MaxPreps. Josh Knight, Mead boys cross country: Knight posted the 10th-fastest time of Colorado's cross country season at the Liberty Bell Invitational on Saturday, finishing in 14:48.63. Only 11 runners in the state have posted a sub-15-minute time this season. Alex McGregor, Longmont softball: The senior homered and drove in seven more runs last week. Her six home runs are tied for the state lead, while her 25 RBIs are second-most. Addis Redwine, Fairview football: The junior was a big reason the Knights (1-1) were able to overcome a 19-point deficit before ultimately falling to ThunderRidge 32-29 on Thursday. He had four receptions for 145 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Rosie Robuck, Mead softball: The junior had three of her five home runs of the season last week as the Mavericks (10-2) have won seven straight. Calia Vaughn, Boulder girls cross country: The junior finished eighth in the main girls race at the Liberty Bell Invitational in Littleton on Saturday, finishing in 17:28.58. Clara Wright, Peak to Peak volleyball: Wright had 24 kills, four blocks and nine digs as Peak to Peak (2-5) beat Lyons in four sets last week.
