Fake Republican midterm convention site still redirects to Epstein files

A fake website claiming to be associated with the Republican National Committee's (RNC) midterm convention, taking place Sept. 9-10 in Dallas, redirects to the Justice Department's homepage for the Epstein files. The online bait-and-switch demonstrates a push from a mysterious source to remind Republicans, or anyone seeking convention details, about the Epstein files. The New York Times and other outlets reported that the website was a spoof, even after appearing for weeks with accurate-seeming information about the convention. The RNC blamed Democrats for orchestrating the site, although it is unclear who is behind it. The founder of a Democratic creative agency linked to the site appeared to take credit for it last week, according to the Times. 'Democrats are too broke to have their own midterm convention, so they settled for a sad, fake little website,' said Zach Parkinson, RNC communications director. The unofficial site, gopdallas2026.com, still redirects to the Epstein files database run by the Justice Department as of September 7. The official website for the convention is gopconvention.com. The convention is intended to hype up voters and encourage them to vote for Republicans down the ballot in the November midterm elections. It will feature speeches from President Trump, Vice President Vance, and a slew of other prominent Republican officials, candidates and personalities on a range of subjects, including economic policy wins for the Trump administration and contrast with Democrats.
