Video: "It looks apocalyptic": Historic scout camp ravaged by Ross Fire

Joe Otto began attending Worth Ranch at 11 years old and became enamored with the historic site, one of the oldest scouting camps in the country. Otto returned to the camp over a dozen summers, including as a staff member, cook and commissioner. In his spare time while on camp grounds, he snapped photos of the campers and rolling landscape. After the Ross Fire destroyed large swathes of the 850-acre site, Otto grieved its destruction, and recalled his old photos that preserved memories of its structures and former campers.
