Samsung Galaxy A36 is making decent progress toward a stable One UI 9 Android 17 update. It's in the 2nd beta right now, and they've deployed a bunch of fixes and stability improvements in the new update. The update has the security patch most A36 beta testers have been waiting for.
The firmware was seen in one of the Asian markets where the Global Galaxy A36 (SM-A366E) model is shipped. The update pushes the firmware version A366EXXUCZZIA to the device, apparently. And this was actually found by leaker Tarun Vats on X.

The second One UI 9 beta has two main changes for the A36. This will fix some of the camera issues people have been having in the first beta. And the second, more important fix is the security improvement via the September 2026 security patch.
The patch itself has fixes for over 90 vulnerabilities in the current beta One UI 9 firmware that desperately needed attention, and A36 users were lucky enough to get the early update. Google already classified 40 of the loopholes as high risk and 18 as critical. So this patch is more important than you realize. By the way, the September 2026 patch hasn't come to the stable One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy A36, but we are on top of it. You'll hear the news as soon as it's available. Sadly, Pakistan is off the list, and Samsung doesn't officially allow any devices in the local market to participate in the beta program.
