Results in PISA, OEK: Kosovo education and economy alert

Kosovo's Economic Oda has watched test results with concern P ISA for 2025, which was made public today. According to OEK, these results point to serious problems at the level of knowledge and basic skills of students in Kosovo. For OEK, it's not just about education. 'The quality of education directly defines the quality of the labour force, productivity, competitiveness and the ability of Kosovo to attract investments. PISA results should serve as an alarm for concrete action. More structured co-operation is needed between educational institutions, the Government and the private sector, with a focus on improving basic skills and linking education to the labour market.', said in response. According to the communiqué, OEK has already contributed to the development of dual education and is willing to mobilise businesses to provide more opportunities for professional practice, mentoring and teaching at the workplace. Kosovo cannot build a competitive future economy without an educational system that prepares young people with knowledge, practical skills and capacity to adapt to changes in the labour market.', it says in communique.
