PHOTO/@KenyaPower/X Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Machakos and Uasin Gishu counties on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, as the utility company carries out maintenance work. The outages will affect several estates, roads, institutions and businesses during different hours, with some areas expected to remain without power until 6.00 p.m. 'Good Evening, please find the areas affected by planned power interruptions scheduled for tomorrow, 09.09.2026,' Kenya Power wrote on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Nairobi County Residents and businesses in parts of South C, Muthaiga and Enterprise Road will experience planned power interruptions from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas affected in South C include parts of Muhoho Avenue, Rubis Muhoho Avenue, Mama Ngina Children's Home, Muhuti Avenue, Mutelo Road, Mugoya Estate, Mnali Estate, Fedha Apartments, Parkview Apartments and Kuguru Estate. Other affected areas include parts of Ole Shapara Avenue, Reliance Hospital, KEWI, Al Jazeera, Uchumi Road, Parkview Estate, Heshima Estate, Five Star Estates 1 and 2, Olive Road, Kawi Complex Road, Five Star Road, Reality Estate, Midland Court, Halai Estate, Ruby Estate, Memon Estate and Akiba Estate. In Muthaiga, the interruption will affect Utalii Hotel, KCA University, Traffic Headquarters, Stima Club, Muthaiga Police, Mathari Referral Hospital, Mathari Secondary School, KMTC, Muthaiga Golf Club, Muthaiga Primary School, Muthaiga Square, Vuli Lane, Wambui Road, Mathari Police Residence and Depot, among other adjacent customers. Parts of Enterprise Road will also be affected, including Wood Products, Kobil Petroleum, Ng'ombe, Tiles and Carpets, MCI Products, Kuguru Close, Epco Builders, Bhachu Industries, Road B, Megh Cushion, Kenya Hydraulics, Trans Africa Motors, Sonado, Fargo Courier, Falcon Road, Mukuru kwa Reuben Hospital and adjacent customers. Parts of Nairobi were also affected by a scheduled blackout on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Machakos County In Machakos County, planned power interruptions will affect Ilpolosat and Konza from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas listed include Konza Data Centre, Kwa Mbindyo, parts of Konza City, Konza ABC, Konza Market, Konza Railway, Mumo Matemo, Malili Safaricom and adjacent customers. Uasin Gishu County In Uasin Gishu County, residents and businesses in Moiben and Koisagat will experience planned power interruptions from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. The affected areas include Moiben, Bidii Primary School, Koisagat and adjacent customers.
