NYC released 170,000 pages indicating officials knew the air at Ground Zero was unsafe after 9/11

New York City has released more than 170,000 pages of previously undisclosed records about air quality following 9/11.Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the release alongside 9/11 families and Jon Stewart, a longtime advocate for first responders and survivors. "Everyone knew," Stewart said. "Now it's very clear that the city knew as well."The records were among 68 boxes discovered in a city government office last year. They include the "Harding Memo," which detailed officials' concerns about thousands of potential lawsuits stemming from toxic exposure and the lack of proper safety equipment, as well as options for limiting the city's legal liability.
