The 2026 Lagos State Food Safety Conference and Exhibition has brought together key stakeholders across the food sector to strengthen food safety standards and promote healthier communities.
The conference featured representatives from NAFDAC, FCCPC, FIRO, the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, government agencies, the organised private sector and other industry players.
In his welcome address, the General Manager/CEO of LASCOPA, Afolabi Solebo Esq., described food safety as both a fundamental right and a shared responsibility, calling for stronger collaboration, improved infrastructure, capacity building, technology-driven systems and greater consumer awareness.
The conference also featured expert presentations, with participants urged to move from reaction to prevention and from fragmented efforts to coordinated action across every stage of the food chain.
