GA DPS announces 5 traffic fatalities, 139 injuries and 364 DUIs over Labor Day weekend

Five people died, and over 300 were cited for driving under the influence across Georgia over Labor Day weekend, according to the Ga. Department of Public Safety (DPS). During the holiday travel period from 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 4 to 11:59 p.m. on Monday, the law enforcement agency increased patrols, watching for speeders, impaired and distracted drivers and assisting in vehicle accidents across the state.
