Baton Rouge man becomes professional disc golf world champion

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man is a world champion. Silas Schultz became the 2026 PDGA Pro World Champion at the PDGA Pro Worlds in Milford, MI. The PDGA Pro Worlds is one of the four Majors that happen every year on the professional disc golf Tour. The Baton Rouge man became 'the lowest-ranked player to ever win this title,' according to the Baton Rouge Disc Golf Association. Along with the title of 2026 PDGA Pro World Champion, Schultz took home $30,000. A welcome home party for Schultz took place at Highland Road Park's Disc Golf Course on Sunday, Sept. 6. Schultz talked about the pressure leading up to the moment. He said it was 'the most nervous I've ever been, even though I've never won, and it was the biggest tournament of the year, but I felt like I could do it.' Latest News
