Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde
Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has opened up about the many opportunities she has turned down, revealing that she could have become a billionaire if she had compromised her values.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Afropolitan podcast, she shared how she has walked away from lucrative offers that would have required her to compromise her stance.
Omotola explained that while she has been tempted to compromise because some offers didn't appear bad, she ultimately chose to walk away to protect her foundation and belief systems. She noted that even in politics, she has turned down opportunities that would have shaken her principles.
The veteran actress also emphasised that compromising would dilute her message, and she remains committed to staying true to herself.
She said:
"If I wanted to be a billionaire, I would have been one easily. Because I have been in situations where no one would have known and I would have taken things and compromised my stance. But I would turn it down and walk away. Many times. Even in politics."
"I am talking about many times where I could have compromised my stance and got paid handsomely for it. But I said, 'No.' Sometimes, they are not necessarily bad things. They are just things that would just rock your foundation or belief systems."
"Sometimes, I am tempted to compromise because they don't appear bad, but I would still walk away eventually. Because in the long run, it will dilute my message."
