REDDITCH Carnival is set to return with a fresh new look for this year. Due to the challenges involved in organising a traditional parade within Redditch's road system, the committee decided a Carnival Street Festival would be the way forward. The pedestrian way called 'The Parade' and the road in front of HSBC in Redditch town centre will become the new carnival event space for 2026 on September 19. The event will have a lively Mardi Gras atmosphere, with a large stage, local DJs, live entertainment, music workshops, and family-friendly activities throughout the day, plus community stalls. Adding even more colour and excitement, the community walking parade will bring local groups, performers and organisations together in a celebratory procession through the town, led by Oya Batucada Samba Band. This will start at the Canopies at 1.30pm. Oya Batucada is back by popular demand to fill the streets with vibrant Samba rhythms and infectious energy. Local singers and dancers will be showcasing their wealth of talent and town DJs will keep the atmosphere lively throughout the day with a mix of Ibiza and reggae sounds. Visitors will also be spoilt for choice with a tempting selection of street food, offering flavours from around the world – from lunch to a quick snack or just the chance to try something new to try, there will be plenty to enjoy.
