Many of the actors who have played a role in the MCU seem to have brought family into the workplace, with either their children, siblings, or spouses bagging a role. And these are not just small cameos; these are full-fledged roles. From Loki to Ego to Thor, many actors have brought in their relatives to the MCU, and those actors have also shined in their roles. Here are all the acting pairs in Marvel who are family in real life. 1 Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell Kurt Russell, known for his roles in movies like Escape from New York, Big Trouble in Little China, and more, played Ego, the living planet and biological father of Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord. Russell made his MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. While his father, Russell, played an egotistical celestial body, his son Wyatt Russell has his own arc in the MCU, playing John Walker in Falcon and the Winter Soldier and later in Thunderbolts*. Starting as a replacement for Captain America named US Agent, Walker is disgraced by his ruthless actions and later gets a redemption arc as a New Avenger. It is interesting to see Kurt Russell play an absent father while his son plays a father who is living with his demons and failures. Ego believes he did the right thing for Peter Quill and has bigger plans, while John Walker's whole arc is about him accepting his mistakes and being the true hero he was meant to be. 2 John Kani and Atandwa Kani John Kani made his debut as King T'Chaka in Captain America: Civil War. Kani's son, Atandwa Kani, also made an MCU appearance. His resemblance to his father paid off big in Black Panther, where Atandwa Kani played a young King T'Chaka in the opening flashback sequence. The actor then reprised his role in What If…? In a story about fathers, sons, and what has been passed on to the next generation, John and Atandwa Kani's casting drives home the theme on a deeper layer. T'Chaka's actions lead to Killmonger coming back and spewing vengeance on Wakanda. The actions of the father and their consequences are faced by the son. In a reversal of sorts, the actions of Atandwa Kani as a younger T'Chaka lead to his father, John Kani's T'Chaka, facing the consequences. 3 Chris Hemsworth and India Rose Hemsworth Chris Hemsworth's Thor is an OG Avenger, and he was the only hero in the franchise to get a fourth solo movie until both Captain America and Spider-Man also got one. Hemsworth's last outing as the God of Thunder might not have worked as well as Ragnarok, but it was special because of one reason: his daughter, India Rose Hemsworth, played his on-screen daughter. In Love and Thunder, India Rose plays Love, the adopted daughter of Thor. She is set to return in Avengers: Doomsday. Beyond playing the role of Love, Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi credited India Rose with helping create the look of Gorr's monsters in the film. Waititi mentioned that both his kids and Hemsworth's kids drew the monsters, and their design was based on those drawings (via People). Bringing family into Thor: Love and Thunder, which speaks about legacy and Thor's own continuing life as he loses his homeworld, brother, and family, makes all the more sense. It is quite emotional when you know that Thor's own daughter played his on-screen daughter. 4 Laurence Fishburne and Langston Fishburne Laurence Fishburne is known for playing Morpheus in The Matrix films, playing the Bowery King in the John Wick films, and even playing Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White in Man of Steel. However, he joined Marvel as Bill Foster in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Foster is an old friend of Hank Pym and was his former assistant on Project Goliath. In a flashback scene, Fishburne was de-aged, and his son, Langston Fishburne, stood in as a reference for the younger Bill Foster. Though he was almost set to be cast in Thunderbolts*, this was the last time we saw Fishburne as Foster. 5 Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton Looks like the Norse family is notorious for bringing family into the mix. Tom Hiddleston is synonymous with Loki, the God of Mischief, having made his debut in 2011's Thor and being the main antagonist in The Avengers. He got his own Disney+ spinoff series, where he was handed the position of God of Stories, with the responsibility of protecting the Sacred Timeline. His partner, Zawe Ashton, seems to have followed in his footsteps and taken on an antagonist role in The Marvels. Ashton played Dar-Benn in the film, a revolutionary Kree warrior who fought to keep her homeworld from being destroyed. While both actors played antagonists, their characters were developed enough to be understood by the fans. Loki's childhood as an outsider and second to Thor puts a lot of his decisions into context, and his eventual turn as the God of Stories makes him a true hero. Dar-Benn is also not a one-dimensional villain. She is against Captain Marvel as she blames her for a civil war in her homeworld of Hala, which eventually destroyed it.
