West Shore RCMP investigate series of vehicle thefts in View Royal

Police received numerous reports of thefts from vehicles parked on De Goutiere Place, Chilco Road and Kaleigh Lane after incidents occurred overnight between Sept. 5 and the early morning of Sept. 6. Investigators identified two male suspects after canvassing the area and are asking the public for help identifying them. One suspect is described as a man with dark facial hair or a moustache. He was wearing a black hooded sweater or jacket with a small white logo on the left chest, black pants and black shoes with light-coloured shoelaces. The second suspect is described as a man between 5'8' and 5'10' with a fair complexion and facial hair stubble. He was wearing a baseball cap and a light-coloured sweater with the word 'Reebok' on the front beneath a triangle. Police said he was carrying a dark backpack with distinctive white lines around the zippers. Anyone with information or who recognizes the descriptions is asked to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264. Information can also be provided anonymously through Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Police are reminding residents to remove valuables from their vehicles, lock doors and windows and park in well-lit areas whenever possible.
