外務省は８日、ネパールと中国の国境付近で起きた土石流を伴う洪水で、３００万ドル（約４億６０００万円）規模の緊急無償資金協力を供与すると発表した。世界食糧計画などの国際機関を通じて提供する方針。
日本はこれまでにテントや毛布などを緊急援助してきた。現地では多数の遺体の身元特定が難航しており、日本の警察庁職員ら身元確認の専門家チームも派遣されている。【野間口陽】
