State Rep. Rick Ryan recently congratulated the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn for receiving a $30,000 General Operating Support Grant from the Illinois Arts Council, allowing the museum to continue serving the community through its play-based educational exhibits.
'The Children's Museum is not just a play space; it's a gathering point for the community, where young children can explore, connect and develop their curiosity through interactive experiences,' Ryan said.
'These spaces are where the future thinkers, creators and learners open their minds and develop lifelong skills. I want to extend my profound congratulations to the museum for receiving this award. Keeping these spaces open and available to the public is how we continue to move Illinois in a better direction.'
The Children's Museum in Oak Lawn was awarded the grant to support the day-to-day functions of the museum, such as staffing, maintenance of spaces and more. Facilitated by the Illinois Arts Council and made available through the state of Illinois, this grant helps nonprofits continue to provide their meaningful programs and services.
