Downed branch blocking Maryland neighborhood for days to be removed after 7News inquiry

A portion of Hastings Drive in Capitol Heights has been blocked for days by a massive tree branch that was brought down by Thursday's severe weather. Now, crews are set to remove that tree limb. 7News' Brad Bell was alerted to the downed branch after receiving a call from a Maryland state senator who was furious that nothing had been done. In addition to the downed limb, Bell found some homes in the area still without power. Bell also reached out to Prince George's County Executive Aisha Braveboy's office about the tree limb and received assurances that a crew would be out there Tuesday to clear the mess left by the storm. "It's a hazard," Esther White, who lives in the area, said. "Cars can't pass, but, more importantly, children have to get to school." Neighbors said they are looking forward to the road being cleared. 7News will continue checking on the situation to ensure that the work gets done.
