I'm just waking up from a period of stillness. It's been the summer holidays here in Dorset, and whilst we haven't been away anywhere, I've really taken some time to be quiet. I haven't had an urge to create, or do much really, but I can feel the tingles returning. It's so easy to get sucked into spiral thinking making the low of the creative wave mean something. Doubt and confusion can come flooding in about worth and value of the process and the outcome. Subscribe now Reflecting now, I don't think I realised how much I needed this down time. So much has happened in the first half of this year, I don't think I really caught up with myself. Sometimes we sub-consciously know space is needed, don't we. When I think about some of the things that have happened in the first half of the year… 💫 Passing my L5 Coaching Apprenticeship in Jan 26, after failing it in December. There was so much stress around this 💫My 50th birthday in March, more expectation and stress, all self inflicted. 💫The excitement of trialing and launching myEnergy Portraits™️in May. 💫Three amazing self-development experiences which led to so much new awareness and healing, in quick succession, that I don't think I fully processed. 💫Health things - I've had a osteoarthritis diagnosed in my knees, inflammation in my body triggering Uveitis a painful eye thing I've been on steroids for nearly a year (inflammation of the iris!). Many hospital visits and tests figuring things out. 💫Full on menopause symptoms, and a bloody hot summer 😂 💫 My beautiful 17yo daughter off to festivals, passing her driving test. Learning how to release expectations/control and sleep at night! Leave a comment Seeing all of that written down it's no wonder I needed some down time. It literally feels like I shut down my mind and stopped thinking. I wasn't quite sure if or when it would switch back on again 😂. But it came back slowly a couple to weeks ago. A clear realisation that prioritising my health needs to be at the forefront. Taking more proactive steps with my diet, drinking and movement to help reduce the inflammation. I've been writing a little about that here in the last week. I'm starting to feel the benefits which is brilliant. So, for me remembering what seems like a creative low has actually been time to process. This quiet time is just as important and the high. The pause in the gap, is simply another part of the process. We are not always aware of this sub-conscious need to integrate and absorb all that we have experienced. It's the learning and awareness that's follows. Giving ourselves full permission to rest without judgement or shame. And when it's time to step forward again you will know, in your body, your intuition, something will tell you it's time. This is a creative process without pressure. It's honouring our sovereignty as a creator. Honouring our unique energy. All we have to do is listen to our body, and not override its wisdom with the mind. I have a question for you - what are all the things you have been through since the start of the year??? And have you honoured time to just be and allow it to integrate?? Leave a comment If you are feeling pressure, doubt, fear or confusion right now, feeling like you have to get back to it - just take a breath, give yourself a hug, tell your brain to shut up, and go do the thing your body is asking of you. Be your own best friend, and here is a huge hug from me to you 🩷💗🩷. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next as momentum returns. With love Sarah 💕 Subscribe now Hello lovely one, I'm Sarah, here writing The Heart of You, a space where I'm exploring my own unfolding art journey, explore Human Design and Gene Keys as a map back to yourself, and holding the movement of women reclaiming their creative freedom — in paint, in words, in life. I'm an abstract artist and coach working at the intersection of creativity, energy and deep human connection. Witnessing women back to their creative souls and their sovereign selves. I spent thirty years on the practical path — the one I chose at 16 when I was told art wasn't a proper subject. What I found my way back to, through grief and black paintings and colours emerging from underneath, is the work I was always here to do. As a 1/4 Mental Projector - Cross of Consciousness, Pisces sun, Aries moon, Virgo rising my work is gentle, powerful, and deeply rooted in permission: permission to be yourself, to follow your energy, and to live and lead from within. This is new paradigm transformation. My purpose is to help you discover the power and sovereignty of embodying your inner authority, so you never need to look to external gurus again.
