SHANGLA - Two people, including a woman and her stepson, were shot dead in Shangla's Balkanae area on Monday over suspected domestic issues. Police have registered a case and launched raids to arrest the accused. According to SHO Olandar Police Station Muhammad Ikram Khan, the tragic incident took place in the upper Shonyal area of Balkanae. The accused, identified as Syed Afsar, allegedly opened fire on his second wife and son over suspicions. In her complaint to police, the accused's first wife said that Syed Afsar had been suspicious of his second wife, Fatima Bibi, and his son Shahid Khan, who was born to his first wife. Acting on those suspicions, he allegedly shot both of them. Election awareness session held for persons with disabilities As a result of the firing, Fatima Bibi and Shahid Khan sustained critical injuries and succumbed to their wounds. The accused managed to flee the scene immediately after the incident. SHO Muhammad Ikram Khan said police have registered an FIR and intensified efforts to arrest the suspect. Checkposts have been established at various locations and multiple raids are being conducted. An investigation team has also been constituted to probe the matter.
