Meghan's party ban for Prince Harry – after wild cheating claims are made public

Prince Harry is back in the UK, and while that may not mean frolicking in the field behind a pub like he did in his days as a young single man, it is likely to prompt a huge feeling of nostalgia for the former 'party Prince'. Not least, of course, because he is now back in his home country, undoubtedly surrounded by old pals who will want to catch up on the past six years of Harry's life – most likely over a pint or two. Most recently, Harry has spent his time playing polo (harking back to his roots), but also learning to surf, practising meditation, and yoga - if the recent pictures of him in the 'upwards salute' pose alongside some baby goats is anything to go by. But after throwing himself into all things Montecito, homesick Harry is reportedly thrilled to be back in the countryside, where he'll undoubtedly feel at home amongst muddy walking routes, horses, his mates and the great English pub. And a source tells us that after reportedly feeling 'isolated' in the exclusive enclave in California that he and Meghan Markle have called home since 2020, being surrounded by his old friends is 'one of the biggest plus points' for Harry. It has, of course, been over two decades since Harry – who turns 42 later this month - was photographed naked in Las Vegas, and years before that when he lost his virginity in a field behind his local pub, but we're told his wife still feels somewhat differently about the matter of him sharing a pint with his pals. An insider says, 'This is a big topic of conversation because now that Harry's home, all of his old friends, like Skip [Tom Inskip], Mark [Dyer], Charlie [van Straubenzee], and others are wanting to see him. Harry back in 2015 at the rugby with his mates, including Skip and Charlie 'He's stayed in touch with most of these guys, but he hasn't seen them in years, and he's been missing them all like mad. He was very lonely in Montecito as far as friends go, so having time with his friends is one of the biggest plus points for him about coming home. 'But for Meghan, it's a real tinderbox; she can't help but worry that it will get him into a bad situation somehow. It was only a couple of months ago that his old party-boy antics were making headlines again, thanks to the journalist [Charlotte Griffiths, who Harry exchanged texts with before meeting Meghan], his supposed 'friends' introduced him to years ago, so her concerns aren't exactly out of nowhere.' In 2025, Harry wrote an essay in which he even praised the 'pub' and 'banter' as two of the things he loved about being British. He wrote ahead of last year's Remembrance Sunday events, 'The banter of the mess, the clubhouse, the pub, the stands - ridiculous as it sounds, these are the things that make us British. I make no apology for it. I love it.' Of course, reuniting with his friends should be a joyful occasion, but after six years of the Sussexes' movements being highly scrutinised for any slip-ups, we're told Meghan fears that Harry, plus a few pals and a few pints, could be a recipe for disaster. 'The big sticking point is what that socialising is actually going to look like,' the source says. 'Harry would love to go back to some of his old London haunts, have a cocktail or two and enjoy being back out with his friends again. From his point of view, it's been the best part of a decade since he's been able to do that properly, and he doesn't see anything wrong with having some fun. At a charity gala in New York with Meghan – probably not quite as much fun as the pub 'But Meghan's very worried by how that will look. The last thing she wants is pictures of Harry out drinking and looking footloose around London; the optics are just terrible. They're trying to project an image of themselves as serious businesspeople and philanthropists, and she knows how quickly a harmless night out could be turned against them.' To make matters worse, an outspoken critic of the Sussexes, Lady Colin Campbell, shockingly claims to have been told of a close friendship Harry had with a local woman in Montecito. She further claimed this could have been the reason behind the Sussexes' sudden move back to the UK, after Meghan found messages on his phone. She said, 'I was informed that Harry has developed a close friendship with another woman who lives in California. And so, of course, if this is the case, it's a strong incentive for Meghan to have Harry in the United Kingdom.' Of course, Lady C's speculation is purely her own opinion and based on unsubstantiated allegations that have not been supported by any other reports. But speculation surrounding possible tension in the Sussexes' marriage has been reported for years. In 2023, a representative for the couple was forced to deny claims that Harry kept a hotel room in the exclusive San Vicente Bungalows in Hollywood for when he wanted time away from Meghan, and throughout this year, there have been reports of growing pressures within their eight-year marriage as they juggle their relationship with the Royal Family, alongside the pressure to support themselves financially. With this in mind, we're told Meghan fears that any innocent picture of Harry on a night out could blow up into something bigger if he doesn't keep his wits about him. Lady Colin Campbell has made some outrageous claims 'Harry attracts attention wherever he goes. There will inevitably be women trying to get into pictures with him and people looking for some crumb of information they can twist into a story - that is one of the realities they have to accept and plan for,' the insider says. 'Meghan wants to see him do any socialising in a private setting, ideally where they're staying, so that she can keep an eye on things. She has offered to host them to watch the rugby, and she swears she has no desire to stop him from having friends. What she doesn't want is him regressing or slipping up publicly in any way – not when they're under more scrutiny than ever.' Of course, Harry is now a middle-aged man and father of two children – Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five – so Meghan, 45, will be hoping that falling out of a London nightclub isn't on the agenda. But equally, we're told that his British mates won't be enamoured with a bag of shop-bought pretzels decanted into personalised bags while Megs keeps her ear to the door for their 'bants', either. 'She's going to have to compromise to some extent. Harry is very keen to see his friends; there's no way he'll avoid them,' the insider says.
