According to an official statement, Goel said the city's ranking had improved consistently over the past four years, from 47th in 2023 to 21st in 2024, 19th in 2025 and 14th in 2026. He attributed the improvement to the cooperation of residents and various measures undertaken by the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad. The corporation undertook extensive dust-control measures, including sprinkling through anti-smog guns, while road cleaning and sweeping systems were also strengthened, the statement said. Goel said plantation drives and the development of green spaces were undertaken with public participation to increase greenery in the city. Initiatives such as Eco Van and Namo Van were also launched, he said. 'The Namo Van initiative was developed as Faridabad's largest green corridor. Under the initiative, green-belt areas filled with waste were transformed into urban forests, while large-scale plantation was carried out along the district boundaries to develop these areas as oxygen zones for the city," Goel said. Public spaces such as Eco Van and Town Park were also developed as part of efforts to make the city greener and cleaner, he said. Work to improve roads and open areas through pavement works was also accelerated, Goel added.
