Lahore has emerged as the world's most polluted city, with its overall Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 253 amid worsening air quality across several localities. Burki Road and nearby areas recorded the highest pollution level in the city, with an AQI of 520. Gulberg followed at 457, while the area surrounding Government College University registered 392. Other locations also reported hazardous readings, including Samanabad at 363, Defence at 332, Model Town at 324 and Iqbal Town at 304. Achhra and its adjoining neighbourhoods recorded an AQI of 281. Global air monitoring data showed northwesterly winds moving across Lahore at approximately 8 kilometres per hour. In response to the deteriorating conditions, medical experts have urged residents to limit unnecessary outdoor movement and use protective masks when going outside. They have also advised keeping windows shut at homes and workplaces to reduce exposure to polluted air.
