ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): The price of gold in the country witnessed a sharp increase on Friday, with the price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs5,200 to Rs477,136 per tola, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The price of 24-karat gold for 10 grams increased by Rs4,458 to Rs409,067, while the price of 22-karat gold for 10 grams rose by Rs4,086 to Rs374,991.
In the international market, gold was quoted at $4,547 per ounce, up by $52 from the previous session.
Meanwhile, the price of silver also witnessed an increase, with 24-karat silver rising by Rs210 per tola to Rs7,379.
The price of 24-karat silver for 10 grams increased by Rs180 to Rs6,326, while international silver was quoted at $69.00 per ounce, up by $2.10.
The gold rates were based on interbank exchange rates, with purity set at 999 for 24-karat gold, the association said.
