CLAIBORNE COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - Residents of Claiborne County and surrounding areas are invited to line U.S. Highway 61 on Tuesday evening to honor Deputy Terrian Bailey on his final journey home.
Deputy Bailey was shot and killed while on duty at a festival.
The shooting happened just after midnight Monday morning in the parking lot of Michael Dean's Convenience Store off Highway 18, where deputies were attempting to disperse a crowd following a nearby festival.

According to investigators, gunshots were directed toward the crowd. Bailey was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died.
The procession will travel north on U.S. 61 through the Port Gibson city limits, make a U-turn at Northside Road, and proceed south to Barnes Funeral Home.
Community members are asked to line the highway safely and respectfully with flags to show support for the Bailey family. Law enforcement officials urge attendees to remain completely off the roadway and follow all traffic directions.
