IMAGE: Gordie Howe Bridge Export Development Canada (EDC) will host a free webinar on Sept. 17 to help Canadian exporters manage the cash-flow challenges created by tariffs and continuing trade uncertainty. 'Managing tariffs and cash flow for Canadian exporters' will run from 1 to 2 p.m. ET and feature experts from EDC and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), along with an experienced Canadian chief financial officer. The speakers will offer practical guidance on protecting liquidity, securing financing and maintaining operations while companies respond to tariffs, counter-tariffs and rising input costs. The session will also address how businesses can continue pursuing growth during periods of trade disruption. Participants will learn about available trade-relief initiatives, including EDC's Trade Impact Program, and how to determine whether their companies may qualify. The webinar will also examine financing and working-capital options and provide guidance on assessing liquidity requirements over the next 90 days. Other topics will include adapting cash-flow forecasts to account for tariff-related costs and taking practical steps to strengthen business resilience. The session is intended for companies currently exporting, businesses planning international expansion and organizations that indirectly support Canadian exporters. It will provide an overview of the financing solutions, support programs and cash-management strategies available to businesses navigating an uncertain trading environment. Registration for the Sept. 17 webinar is now open.
