Sack races, creative corner and live music delight all ages at community fun day in Wexford

There was plenty of family fun in Wexford recently as friends and fellow neighbours gathered for the Tara Hill Community Fun Day. The Tara Hill Community Development Association hosted its Community Fun Day on Sunday, August 16, marking another successful year for what has become an annual event. On the day, there was something for all ages, including a dog show, sack races and a creative corner. '' It's easy to forget how good it feels to just stop, sit in a field, and catch up with your neighbours. 'Life moves fast, and days like this, where the kids run wild, and the adults get a proper chat, don't happen by accident. They happen because a community decides they matter and puts in the work to make them happen,' he added. As the event relies heavily on the efforts of volunteers, the community group thanked all for their support, making the day possible. A special thanks was also given to emergency services, Fire Brigade and Coast Guard, who gave up their time to attend and provide demonstrations for the children. The ICA and local ladies were thanked for their generous donations of baked goods on the day. Following a successful community day, Paul said the Development Association has already confirmed the event for next year, which will return to Tara Hill on Sunday, August 15, 2027.
