Every Side Must Take A Step Back To Resolve Political Issues: Barrister Gohar

Meetings continue and negotiations should take place, but the environment is currently calm and no progress has been made, says PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar. ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Sep, 2026) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar has said that every side will have to take a step back for a political solution to political issues. Speaking to a private television channel, Barrister Gohar did not deny holding meetings with Mohsin Naqvi, saying that meetings continue and negotiations should take place. He said the environment is currently calm, but no progress has been made. He said they would not violate any law or block roads during the protest, while no government resources would be used at all for the long march. Barrister Gohar said the court should not have sought an affidavit from the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, adding that it should also not create the impression that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the police could clash with each other. He said efforts were being made to improve the capacity of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and that the province had spent 45 billion rupees on the police department last year. Barrister Gohar said they would ensure there was no political interference in the police. He said that after the chief minister received police powers, he would not use them on personal preferences but would take steps to improve the police. He reiterated that no law would be violated and no roads would be blocked during the protest, while government resources would not be used at all in the long march. He also said the court should not have sought an affidavit from the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police or created the impression that the province's people and police would fight each other.
